Details of swap:This Secret Santa-style swap—open to all current and former members of STS—is a chance to build some STS spirit, express our appreciation for this great community, and have a little low-stress holiday fun—for whatever winter holiday you celebrate!
This is a low-stress swap: we will be swapping one medium and two small items. According to Craftster, medium and small items are equivalent to the following:
MEDIUM = 2 to 3 hours, $10-$30 (a set of notecards, a scarf, a simple bag)
SMALL = less than 2 hours, less than $10 (earrings, a wallet, a bookmark)
Extras and spoiling are fine—just keep in mind that since this isn’t a “partner” swap, there’s no way to ensure that you will be equally spoiled! Whatever you send, be sure to wrap your items in a holiday fashion.
This swap is all about the secret. Your partner won’t know who you are until opening your package. In turn, you won’t know who will be sending to you until you receive. That means that when you receive your partner's info, you will stalk her in silence. You must NOT contact your partner and let her know who you are! And be careful when posting in the STS forum! If you have questions about sizing or other issues, feel free to contact your group leader, who will direct your question to your partner while maintaining your anonymity!
You may reveal yourself in the package you send, or if you prefer, in the gallery thread after your partner posts photos of your package. As STSers, we might recognize one another’s addresses, so revealing yourself in your package is probably the way to go.
As for revealing your partner to the group in the forum:
When you receive, WAIT UNTIL DEC 1st to name the person who sent your package in the thread.
Or, if you (as a sender) didn't identify yourself in the package you sent AND if your package has been received, you can reveal your identity in the forum after the 1st.
In the meantime, feel free to post gallery photos of the package you received. It's also fine to chatter about who might have sent which package!
As in STS, you must agree to send internationally. You may not have to, but as in STS, we want to make this an inclusive community! Since this is a small swap, shipping should not be expensive.
Throughout the swap, you will be expected to:
• PM your group leader (either underthemountain or ptarmic wumpus) when you send and when you receive. Remember NOT to PM your partner!!
•Please title your PMs for this swap “STS Community Holiday Swap – SENT / REC / Question” as appropriate.
•If you are sending within your own country, you must have a DC# (delivery confirmation number). Include the DC in your SENT PM. If you are sending outside of your country and cannot get a tracking number, you must keep your receipt as proof of shipping.
•When you receive, post photographs in the gallery
