I'm contributing a couple of mosaics to the Tampa Museum of Art's 5x5 fundraiser (http://fivebyfivetampabay.com/). Below is the photo of the un-grouted mosaics. I was thinking of doing a tan grout for the heart mosaic and a dark grey grout for the music note. What do you think? Other suggestions? I'm going to paint the edges of the music note mosaic black. I think the unfinished look might be good for the heart...

Your feedback is most appreciated.

Both of you grout choices sound good. Just remember to go light first. You can always tint darker if need be. Smiley

It's probably MUCH too late to do any good, but here's my two cents:

I don't much like the tan color behind the heart mosaic.  You've combined two colors with nothing in common (red and blue), so adding a third doesn't make a lot of sense.  I might try a gray, and maybe paint the grout in the heart area with watered-down red acrylic paint.  You have to be careful because it can bleed into other areas; start at the center and work your way out.

You've got kind of the same issue with the music note, high contrast between the two tile colors.  I think white grout would look good, I tried black in photoshop, but it looks bad.
