For the doctor who swap I wanted to make something both decorative and useful. so my partner is a amazing knitter and I thought a yarn dispenser would be cool.  I took a paper mache wine bottle box and add tones of little pieces of wood to for the police box paneling. Painted it all tardis blue and aged and shadowed it up.  Carved a hole out of the top added the fake light with a hole in it for the yarn to come out of.  So you put your yarn in thread it through the whole and put the lid back on and now your yarn is dispensed nice and smooth and you can show off you doctor who love.

I loved making this so much I bought an extra everything so I can make another one. I will add in progress photos or maybe a tutorial when I do it again.  Thanks for looking C&C welcome.

You are so clever.  A great idea and beautifully executed.  I am impressed by all the detailed panelling. Perfect for a Whovian who also knits.

Thank you both.  Ive never cut so many tiny bits of wood before. Thank goodness balsa wood is so thin I could use   a pair of old scissors to cut it Wink

That's a really great idea! I'm always getting my yarn thrown about the house, I just may have to make one for myself. Of course, mine won't look nearly as awesome as this one does  Grin
