I have draped a halter neck top.

The back is connected at the neck, then is open until the waist and then continues to the hips. Therefore if I was to wear a bra, it would be seen through the open back.
I have been looking at bra cups, which I cannot get locally. I don't think a shelf bra will work, because I think it would stretch out the back and not give me any support, of which I don't need alot of but I am a 34D.

I have considered using a bra that can be cut up as it doesn't fit very well, but the cups are the correct size, the band is wrong.

Is there any tutorials on this technique, on here or elsewhere that could help me?

I am an intermediate sewer and can follow complex instructions.

Thanks for reading.

I came across this tutorial yesterday. http://daughterfish.com/?p=3228/
It uses cups but I think you could cut up an old bra and use it the same way.
Hope it helps
