Wink  So - I found this lovely pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/31-tiered-skirt- but wasn't sure the XL would fit my, ahem, assets. So I sized up a needle (proly didn't have to - but it hangs lovely this way) and this is what I got!
I also added rows to make it longer (I <3 me some long swingy skirts!) and crocheted a scalloped border w/handspun tussah silk to make it hang better.

On the first tier:

Third tier:

Thanks!! It ended up being almost 15 balls of yarn and the third tier was over 700 stitches EACH row. I wanted to kill something by the end  Lips sealed

It took only a month - and I'm a slow knitter. Since it was all stockinette stitch - I could watch tv while I knit and not have to pay attention. Which was lovely. I will be posting some shots w/it on - as soon as I get some! I am wearing it today - so maybe....   Roll Eyes

Thanks everybody!!

And here's a pic with me wearing it! Sorry for the craptastic pic quality - if I don't take the pic - it won't get taken.

Thanks guys!! You should start it - it was super super easy!! All you need to know is how to knit, purl & yarn over! If I didn't have to do the largest size - it would've been so much faster! And - sadly - I'm making another one 'cause I love it so much!!  Roll Eyes

Oh! I really love this. I have wanted to make something like this myself with leftover stuff. It is very beautiful!! Do you put a lining in it? Or do you wear a slip??
Very pretty!

No need for a lining or a slip - it's a light worsted weight yarn - so it's pretty darn thick. LOVE the way it hangs and feels (at least now that I've blocked/washed it)  Wink

Thanks! It IS fun to wear! And, yes, a bazillion is fairly accurate. At least that's what it felt like  Undecided

I've been wanting to knit a skirt for myself for awhile now and this is absolutely lovely.  I may have to go over to Revelry and look for that pattern.  Congrats on your patience ...it sure paid off my dear.  ...fernmeadow
