HOW THIS SWAP WORKS:
Claims are made throughout the swap period. You have three weeks from the time you make a claim to send that claim.
You can make as many (or as few) claims as you want throughout the month as long as you never go over your allowed amount of outstanding claims. (An outstanding claim is a hoopla that has not been received; when that hoopla is received your number of outstanding claims goes down leaving you open to bring it back up to 2 or 3.) If, at any point, you already have one claim that will be sent out late, please don't claim again until that one is sent out.

FOCs are allowed to make a maximum of 3 outstanding claims.
Non-FOCs are allowed to make a maximum of 2 outstanding claims.
First time swappers are allowed to make a maximum of 1 outstanding claim.

Posting pictures of received hooplas is required for this swap.
If you are unable to do so, you are expected to contact the person who claimed you and ask them to please do so for you.

CLAIMING
1. Claims are made using the following procedure:

Person A (the swap organizer) will begin the swap by posting a list of themes in this swap thread.
Person B will choose a theme from one of A's themes and make a claim by posting his/her own list (see below for formatting of post).
Person C will make a claim on one of B's themes and post his/her own list.
Person D will make a claim on one of C's themes and post his/her own list etc...

This continues through the end of the month, when the swap organizer closes out the claiming part of the swap and continues this swap in the next round starting in the next month.

2. How to make a claim:
A claim post should include the following information:
1. The theme you are choosing and who youre sending it to.
2. The send by date (three weeks from the date the claim is made)
3. Statistical info about your current swap claims status:

Claims = Total claims
Sent = anything currently in the mail.

Formatted thusly (claims outstanding/claims sent/claims received)

4. Your location.
5. Your personal preferences.
6. Your list of themes.
7. *Optional* Any wist or pinterest that would be relevant.

ONCE YOU HAVE MADE A CLAIM:
1. Send a personal message to the person you have claimed and request their address

2. You have 3 weeks to complete each hoopla (equivalent to at least a medium or 2 hours in crafting time), and have it in the mail to its new owner. You cannot have more than your maximum allotted claims outstanding (3 for FOC, 2 for non-FOC, 1 for new swappers)

Eeek, so many choices!

I claim whenindoubtsew for Discworld, send by 10/22

About Me: My name is Laura and I live in Maryland with my husband, 3 kids, a dog, a cat, and a mini rex rabbit

I love cross stitch and embroidery and I have a large wall set aside for hoops. It has had many beautiful additions from swapping, but there is a ton of room left to fill.

I am a huge fan of Firefly/Serenity, steampunk, and the color blue in all shades. Most rooms in my house are white or beige with blue accents, my living room is pale green. I need some color. I'm trying to make our house feel something like a beach cottage (even tho we are about 30 minute drive from the Chesapeake bay) but the house has more of an overstuffed, cluttered, lived in feel.

Here are my themes!

    blackwork
    monochromatic in blues
a mini cross stitched quilt (any pattern)
    silly frogs/tree frogs/faerie frog
    Celtic knotwork
    Meowth/Team Rocket
    Pirate wench/pirate girl
    a dark/goth faerie
    Princess Bride
    Pinterest surprise
Anything at all that inspires you

I'm Cindy and I live in Alberta, Canada.  I want solid backgrounds for my hoops rather than a busy material as I like the work to really stand out.  Please don't send me anything with profanity or nudity and I'd ask that you don't use felt to create any part of the hoop (except for backing.)

My themes:

     - the more realistic, the better:
                            Owls
                            Woodpeckers
                            Bluejays
                            Sunflowers
                            Poppies

     - Snowflakes
     - Hearts
     - anything from my Funny board on Pinterest - http://pinterest.com/CindyEsau/funny/

I claim deathbeforedishes for an owl hoop! Due Oct 29th.

1/0/1

Im Jessica from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. First-time hoopla swapper! Im a big fan of embroidery, patterns, sewn bits, the use of mixed media, and more. However, Im not a big fan of cross-stitch, unless its a clear mockery of traditional cross-stitch (like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/150307706283702530/ - love that!). In general, Im also not a big fan of light colours or pastels, though some could be used.

Here's my themes, crazy specifications, and some Pinterest board links for inspiration (whether or not they have hoops on them!).

THEMES

- reading, writing, pro-libraries, typewriters inspiration: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/reading-writing/

- grow your own food/pro-local food inspiration: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/gardening-farms/

- (your?) art with a female as the subject could be somewhat creepy or dark, could be somewhat sexy, but not necessarily either the kind of things I like:  http://pinterest.com/psyche13/art/

- other art: Mucha girls/Art Nouveau; Rene Magritte; Salvador Dali

- creepy or gothy some things I like are bats, spiderwebs, ravens, dark Victoriana, realistic skulls inspiration: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/gothy-or-creepy/ http://pinterest.com/psyche13/dark-victoriana/

- Super Mario baddies Piranha Plant, Chain Chomp, Goomba, or Bob-omb (there are some excellent Piranha Plant, Goomba, & Chain Chomp hooplas on my pin board: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/super-mario/)

 - Canadiana http://pinterest.com/psyche13/canadiana/

- (pro) Hamilton, Ontario

- travel (for a hoop, I prefer sayings over maps) some inspiration: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/around-the-world/

- apocalyptic, possibly with a slightly steampunky twist I like wastelands, dusty tones, mushroom clouds, gasmasks, zeppelins, and biohazard/radioactive symbols [as long as they are not bright yellow]) inspiration: http://pinterest.com/psyche13/the-apocalypse-and-beyond/

I claim the Mario Baddies theme for psyche. Send out: 10/31/12

1 claim/0 sent/0 received

My name is Jennifer and I'm currently living in Louisville, Kentucky. I haven't done much straight embroidery yet; I mostly do sewn bits. I don't much care for cross stitch unless it is a sampler with a ridiculous quote. But I really do prefer sewn bits/mixed media/embroidery. I don't much care for neon or pastel colors, but anything else is probably fine. I like weird, bizarre, and ridiculous things, and my humor is very dry and kind of strange. I am also not opposed to something "adult" but I think the most that would occur based on my themes would be explicit words.

The Soup (TV show) - any of their ridiculous phrases/gags, as far back as Whitney Houston's "Kiss My Ass"
Futurama - minus Kip, Amy, and Zap Brannigan. Can provide quotes.
Adventure Time (minus Fiona and Cake)
Harold and Maude
Harry Potter spells/dark mark/maurader's map
Catch-22 (book) - could be a quote or something from the movie. I can provide some quotes if asked Smiley
Computer chips
anatomy
"mini microbe" - germs/disease/etc like the stuff on this site: www.giantmicrobes.c om
Kentucky (maps/geography/landmarks/etc)
Kurt Vonnegut artwork

I claim deathbeforedishes for chemistry/Chanukah (not as odd a combination as it sounds.)
Send date 13th November 2012
2/1/0

It took a while, but I finally came up with an idea for deathbeforedishes themes that I feel confident I can execute.
Brief info: I am a middle aged, married woman (kids all grown up, one recently married) who primarily lives in a small university town in central New York State (but with a place in New York City, yeah!). My interests are very broad and I don't have strong opinions about color. So, feel free to take any basic idea below and be flexible with it. Here are a few themes to consider:

1 Fruits and vegetables
2 Farms/farming
3 Mid-century modern/retro
4 Art Deco
5 Famous sites
6 Clockworks
7 Humorous Quotes
8 Celebration (non-religious)
9 Opera and/or dance
10 Mathematics
11 artist's choice

Best wishes for everyone.

I claim Dr. Craft for retro fruit, send by Nov. 15th.
(1,0,0)
I'm Cait, a recent college grad and new resident of beautiful San Diego, CA. I share a home with my boyfriend and our fat, spoiled cat, Artoo Detoo. My style is feminine, kitschy, vintage/retro, with bold patterns and bright colors (my favorite colors are pink and orange). I spend a lot of my free time baking, wreaking havoc on the poor houseplants with my black thumb, and pursuing my many crafting interests.

Some ideas to choose from:
-CATS (I'm a huge cat lady)
-Movies: Star Wars, Monty Python (any), Kiki's Delivery Service, The Fifth Element, The Princess Bride
-traditional tattoos
-cute kitsch
-floral, especially lilacs
-bees (realistic, please)
-ocean/nautical inspired
-anything vintage (http://mytransfers.blogspot.com/ is a great resource)
-cute woodland critters
-tea
- pinterest inspired http://pinterest.com/kittycait/crafting-inspiration/
