I found this little treasure in the little boy's section of my local thrift shop.  It fit pretty snugly, but I felt like I was choking from the tiny neck opening so I chopped it off so it hangs off the shoulders.  There's two rows of topstitching just around the neckline, a detachable bow brooch which I crafted out of some leftover fabric I had used for my pillowcases here and padded it with the fabric from the hoodie I chopped off.  I also added a few studs to the bottom right along the seam, just because I felt like it.

This was a really quick and easy project, and what's great is that the fabric doesn't fray so it can be left unfinished/raw.

You are clever to see the possibilities in a garment.  I would just have looked at it and thought "So nice but it's a kiddie size" and put it back.

This is fantastic! The bow 'makes' the top for me and has given me lots of inspiration :-)
