Photo "Canvases" made from cereal and snack boxes

The bedroom was sorely low on artwork.  My house overall really needs some wall love.  So, here are some "canvases" I made to make our bedroom happy.  They are photos of my husband and me, lovin' on each other, to remind us to treat each other this way every day.  Seeing them makes us look in each others' eyes more often.  And I just wanted to make some cool art! 

Here's what I did: saved cereal and other shallow cardboard food boxes.  Painted over them with some white primer (after not doing so the first time and insuffficiently covering the logo) 



Then I printed pictures I liked on the laserjet.  The quality of our printer is just terrible.  But this was concealed when I mod-podged the pictures onto the boxes. 
Then, I painted the edges black, in a messy artistic sort of way, to cover the ends of the picture on all sides. 


The vignette you see below the pictures consists of some of our favorite books held up by bookends and a homemade vase that was a bottle with the inside spray-painted white.

Wow! Your work of art looks great. It reminds me of the school projects I used to get that involved the 'best of waste ' concept. This is the perfect example of that. What is interesting is that work looks Fab! It actually looks good on your wall. Giving it a proper canvas effect. The idea of painting the edges black gives it a good raw sort of artistic finish. Keep up the good work.

That's something creative that i discovered here in this forum. The best way we can decorate the walls is by designing such canvases. Thanks for the great idea.

What a super creative idea!  I've been trying to figure out some cool ways to do art without buying canvass so I LOVE this idea!  Great job!
