Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I made this today, while playing around with some scrap leather, leftover from my minibook frenzy.  I love the mix of metal and leather, and the mix of textures.  What do you think?

If anyone is interested in making one themselves, I made a rough tutorial and posted it on my blog.

Hmmm - not having great luck with this upload pics to post option.

I love the way the metal and leather look together! Especially the way you weather the metal. Awesome  Grin

Thank you - I have lots of little bits of leather left over from making those minibooks, so I am thinking of ways to use them - I hate to see them go to waste!

I love mixing different materials together too, especially mixed metals. I think you did a great job of combining the leather with the stamped metal. I checked out your tutorial and like that you used the embossing machine to emboss your leather. I've used my small Cuttlebug machine to emboss thin metal and wondered if I could do leather. I assume the leather would have to be relatively thin too.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I used scrap leather of varying thicknesses.  There were pieces that were upholstery leather, so they had some stiffness to them, and I was able to run that through the machine.  I wouldn't force something through the machine, in case it is too thick, so if you have a thicker piece of leather, you may not want to use both cutting pads, but play with using other pieces of cardstock or something to make shims.  Or I mentioned using clamps - you could clamp the leather between two pieces of wood with good clamps, in the embossing folder too - so long as there is consistent, strong pressure to emboss the pattern.
