I just finished this portrait. I was inspired by a dream I had and Victorian portraits. This is very large (30x40) and took about 6-7 hours to complete. I had painted an ocean scene and then an abstract on this canvas before but I hated both so I painted over them. I modge podged paper onto the canvas then painted over it. I wish I had a man cave or cigar lounge to hang this in.

It came out great!  Love your tip about mod podging over an unwanted canvas.
