Polymer Clay Mermaid Mask: Light, Wearable, Vegan

I have begun making handmade polymer clay masks, and this is one of my favorites. I made it using my own custom vegan "starfish" mold, as well as some home-made texture tools. (the mold is "vegan" b/c i made it using a toy plastic starfish rather than a dried/dead starfish). Light and wearable. Being modeled here by my lovely little sister!   It is very mermaid-y!

when you baked it, did you bave it resting against something so it could keep its shape? this is really cool - i never thouht of ising polymer clay for a mask!

to answer some questions:

--yes, i created a form for baking which gives the masks its fitted shape.

--a "vegan starfish" LOL: what i mean is that I created the mold using a plastic starfish toy and my own details, rather than making the mold from a dried (dead) starfish. i am vegan, so i wanted to make sure no starfish died. (now, the toy company that made the TOY starfish may very well have made THEIR toy mold using a dead starfish...i have no idea...but u can only control so much in this world!)

actually, it is very light, b/c the polymer clay is rolled out into a very thin thickness.
yes, the whole mask is polymer clay (except the metallic powder used to make it shiny), and it is thin and lightweight.

i also use an elastic with it that keeps it nice and secure on the face.

I would have never thought in a million years to make polymer clay masks. Is the mask itself clay? Or do you have a base mask that you sculpt onto? It always makes me happy to see people use polymer in different ways.
