One day, not so very long ago, mum was driving down the street and saw a dollhouse sitting at the curb, waiting for the garbage men to tip it into the truck. She immediately kicked my very nearly 80 year old granny out of the van to rescue the house for me.

This is that house.

This is the inside of that house.

After a little over a week working full time (and into the wee hours) on this place it's ready for a Halloween show I'm doing. Here is that house now...

This shrunken head is one of my favourite things in the house Smiley

The cause of the stain on the first floor ceiling.

Hmmm, there's something not quite right about that picture....

What is going on here?!?

Well used peep holes from the adjoining room! Eek! (Personal story: When we were relocating and looking at houses there was one place that had a strange sort of stained glass picture of a pirate ship in one of the rooms. When we went into the bedroom next door we realized that the port hole on the ship was actually a peep hole into the next room! We did not buy that house.)

There's a number of creepy sort of things in this room... bones... a skull mask... doll parts... snake skin... and a bit of an accident too....

Here's a rather boring view of the entire back...

And a final creepy exterior shot...

If you'd like to see 'in progress' pics and see who I stole ideas from hop over to the Wee House Craftalong board Smiley

loveitloveitloveitl oveitLOVEIT!!

There has to be some...poetic justice(?) at work here. You rescue a poor little house that has clearly seen better days - and you make a beautiful thing out of it by making it even more rundown Cheesy I love the aging/texture you applied to it. Your progress shown on the Wee House Craftalong forum was thrilling to go through.

I don't think I've ever commented on any of your works but you astound me. I have no doubt in my mind that this will be in the Featured Projects next time they change them, with good reason.

Thanks all   Smiley I'm so happy my mum and granny 'saved' this place. Honestly, I couldn't afford to buy this model, and if I could I wouldn't have the heart to rough it up, so I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to play with someone else's garbage.

So many great ideas came from my fellow craftsters. The 'wee house posse' rocks  Kiss

I'm so glad you saved it! Reminds me (loosely) of the dollhouse my grandpa built for me when I was 13, which he literally finished days before he died. I can't believe someone was just going to throw that out!!

And, as a spooky person, I love what you did with it Smiley
