So I started crocheting around March this year and I thought "Hey, these granny square thingies are really easy to make. I'm going to make a really big blanket!"

So after 800+ squares, several weeks worth of Repetitive Strain Injury, several days worth of crocheting, much procrastination, about $60 and 24 balls of yarn over a span from April 4th to September 20th....

I made this:

It's about 2m squared (still have to block it) and I haven't done all the yellow squares due to running out of yarn and my buying it from a seasonal stockist. The perler sprite design was made by genjiworks on DeviantArt.

Here it is compared to a meter ruler.

Have some progress shots:

Humble beginnings.

It outgrew the desk and threatened to outgrow the spare bed.

Slowly piecing it together...

C&C appreciated!

This is absolutely amazing. I love Totoro! I never would have thought to use granny squares to make an image. I am seriously in awe, and in love.
