Started putting hoods on some of my dresses....just made these two out of some old sheets.  I'm sooo into the colors of the first striped one!  Think it's probably going to go straight into my closet, ha!  I didn't realize how EASY hoods are - I just found a pattern from an old 60's beach cover-up and lined it.  And what's better than a dress with a hood?  (well, a dress with pockets, but besides that!)

Those are really cute.   I like the little scoop back - I was expecting it to be solid, so it's a nice little surprise.  The second one reminds me of candy corn Smiley

They are both very cute. Those sheets are beautiful fabrics.  I love the pattern of the second one.

Would I be dating myself if I admitted that the second dress is made from the same design of sheets I used to own in the 70's? My parents let me paint that same design on my closet doors, so I had the cool room.

I think I like the dress version better. Cheesy

I was going to say that I grew up with my parents having those sheets the first one is made of!  I actually have pictures of those sheets and blanket!

I LOVE THAT DRESS!  Best use of those sheets ever, imo!  Great work!

I LOVE when people had the sheets I use when they were kids.  I find sheets from my childhood at thrift stores all the time!

Yes I did.  But The hood is from a 60s pattern.  If you just find a hooded dress pattern, take the hood piece and attach it to the shoulders of another dress you make!

The first one is awesome! And I agree with the first comment: The second one is so candy corn.

I adore them both. The second is my favorite though. Smiley It is totally the vibe of my childhood. Early 80's.. san diego beaches. The sunset with salty air and my parents glasses clinking with ice cubes... Smiley

Really love how both of these turned out! Great colors on both. The second dress reminded me of candy corn too, at first, but it actually looks like that cool 70's/80's sunset patten that was on everything. I always loved that look.
You are right that hoods are great to have on a dress and pockets are great! But usually hard to find Sad
These dresses are actually very pretty and flattering too. Good show!

Ah that sounds like the life for me. I'm from a small costal town in the UK where it constantly rains! Haha Smiley

The dresses are great, I love how you've lined up the stripes on the bodice of the 1st one and the hood with the scooped back is so much fun. I'm really into hoodies over dresses so this is an ideal combo for me! Cheesy

Love these! Sheets are the best fabric... cheap, great prints, and lots of fabric! Love the idea of adding hoods. Good job.
