Recycled Medal Ribbon Union Jack

So this is my entry to the Craftster Reuse/Recycle challenge, I actually made this for another local Reused Art contest but given that I would miss the deadline for the entries on Craftster (only noticed the challenge 2 days before me hols) I asked if I could submit this project, and I could 

It was super fun to make and just the result of a lucky bit of messing around with my beloved medal ribbon stash I scored at a thrift store some time ago (33 ribbons in total and 11 m in length) this project was made using the scraps leftover from a number of other Medal ribbon projects I posted to my blog (posting to Craftster too shortly)

The technique is called a Scrappy star but I didn't iron or measure, I just got stuck in and lo and behold it ended up looking like a Union Jack which was cool because I'm also a proud Brit abroad. I just kept adding until I had a square.

Anyway hope you like it, I'm obsessed with medal ribbons so if you have a stash let me know and I'm sure we can come to some (coughs discreetly) a'hem arrangement
