Heehee, thanks Kayrun!  Lana is still chugging away on her scarf.  She only does 2-4 rows a day so this is going to take a while.  Smiley
Sad that your daughters didn't want to learn how to knit...guess they don't need to with a mom that can make great stuff!

I'm getting along in fits and spurts. Totally starting way late and I already know I won't be able to do something handmade for everyone =/ but at this point I'm just trying to chill and enjoy making the things I can finish in time.

So far tried my for the first time seriously at painting - in so much as actually trying to recreate somewhat of a realistic depiction, shading, etc. It is seriously hard with acrylics so I appreciate people who can work in that medium so much more now!!

And I might try picking out a simple small crochet project to make for my SIL using some beautiful handspun today.

Umm...that's it so far  Cheesy

Other than trying to finish my school semester's work this weekend (deadlines are tomorrow and Monday; what am I doing on Craftster!?), I'm struggling with deciding what to make out of this handspun yarn, since no one claimed it from my shop! These are swatches I did this week to see how the stripes would turn out:

I love the colors and stripes, and it's all fairly even (for my rudimentary spinning, at least  Smiley). There's just under 300yds, and it's a little too scratchy, for my preference, to be an item that touches the skin (other than if it were, perhaps, slippers or a hat). It's also very fullable/feltable, so I thought about making a fulled bowl/box/vessel with it, but I'm liking the look of the stitches, too.

What do you think would be the best use for this yarn? I'm all ears (but not very skillful -- basic crochet techniques, and loom-knitting with a 60-stitch maximum width, is all I'm good for, when it comes to yarn  Cheesy).

This crafter is out of service most of the rest of 2015 due to a wild schedule, swapping once in a while when I can't fight the feeling anymore ("I've forgotten what I started fighting fooooor...").
Personal swaps: I have lots of home-grown rosemary and white sage available, plus altered journals.

That's really pretty handspun Calluna!

Nothing crafty from me yet.  Still working on a paper and getting ready for a meeting in SF.  I just got some fun and thickish yarn that I'll make a matching scarf/hat set for Lana with.

Those stripes are pretty!  I started a quilt last week that needs to be done by Christmas.   Tongue

I love the colors in that handspun, calluna!   So pretty!   Would it make a good hot pad when felted?  If so, I think it would be really pretty as a hot pad for serving dishes.   Smiley

I'm still working on my Christmas knitting.  But I'm almost done.  Finally!  Cheesy

I've been on a sewing kick lately. I have the materials to make pj pants for my kids and I need to make a pair of hanging dish towels for a gal at work. Smiley

In progress I currently have a pair of socks for my extended family secret santa, these fingerless gloves for my sister, these fingerless gloves for my friends (2.5/4 pairs complete), and some handspun for another crafty friend. Tomorrow I'm planning on making 2 sets of generic greeting cards and a batch of biscotti to send to a couple of friends in New England. I also have a windsock that's been in progress for a while that I'm hoping to finish for my dad.

I swear, I actually did start early this year. I had all of these plans, and I was going to not get caught up in swaps and get all of my presents done (minus baked goods) before December even started, so that I could craft for ME this month instead of being swamped. Oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men...  Roll Eyes
