Those baby hats are adorable!

I found two more jars of cherry jam, they're in my shop.  So is a jar of blackberry jelly that I added a splash of blackberry brandy to when I made it.   Smiley

I will be out of town but with internet this weekend....if Sandy follows up with some of the model scenarios, I may need to close for a bit next week as I will likely be stuck in ABQ and there will be no power at my house in Maryland even if I make it back.

The repeated multi-day power outages are severely impacting my ability to keep my stash of sour cherries frozen. For those of you who have farms, how much effort/equipment is canning? I don't want to make jam, I want to store the cherries whole, and maybe stuff like cooked pumpkin flesh.

Canning cherries is easy peasy.  You need jars, two part lids, tongs and deep pots to boil in.  Here's a good how to guide - http://www.frugallivingnw.com/frugal-homemaking/picking-canning-sweet-cherries-a-step-by-step-guide/    Pumpkin is not recommended to be canned.
