squidget, your wishlist says "large yardage of apparel fabric" - what do you consider to be large yardage?

I put a little bit of the Jacob fleece through the picker last night, and I think it might be better off being combed....if combing is ok with a 4" staple length. So I may just put it in my shop as washed but uncarded, since I don't have combs...

The farmers market had a bunch of small decorative pumpkins and gourds for as little as 50 cents....so now I am thinking of buying some and then amputating their stems to use on the velvet pumpkins instead.  That seems a bit sad for the real pumpkins though.

Buy the kind of pumpkins that are good for making pies -- then you can have stems and pumpkin for pies!

You know, I haven't seen any pie pumpkins. They only started selling the big pumpkins two weeks ago, and the decorative ones last week. Maybe I will be able to find some little pie pumpkins in the next week or two...or other edible squashes with stems. I looked at the acorn and butternut squash, but most of them did not have good stems.

Awesome!  Ptarmic and I will be starting the STS Holiday Swap soon.  I hope all of you will join in.  It's going to be loads of fun!  The cold weather we've been having lately has really put me in the mood for Christmas...that and the naughty stockings by SheepBlue! 

MissingWillow, hope I can get that peach jam when you open.  My hubby is a huge peach lover!  I have some blackberries frozen and if I don't get around to making a pie with it I just might make jelly instead.  I can't wait until next summer.  I'm going to pick and pick and pick!

Around 2 yards would be good. I am an apparel design major so I use a lot of apparel fabric for samples

Welcome, all ye new and returning!  

MW, I had claimed a jar of honey from you 2-3 years ago as a gift for some relatives, and I'm house-sitting for them right now; lo and behold, I open the kitchen cupboard, and there's the jar of honey with the Missing Willow Farms tag on it, still unopened! For cryin' out loud, it IS pretty, and it WAS a gift, but it was a gift meant to be used! So I opened it up and have been enjoying it, rather belatedly.  

The cold weather we've been having lately has really put me in the mood for Christmas...

Cold weather?! You have cold weather?! Agh, how I envy those of you with cold weather right now!   It's still over 100 degrees here, after a week that dipped down into the 90s.   It generally stays like this until a few days before Halloween. There is no Autumn. At least it's pleasant to go out at night.

Good for you, Calluna!  That was sourwood honey.  We didn't get any last year or this year so that's a special jar.
