I been busy WinkWinkWink
A couple weeks ago I spun this, just to spin. ~190 yards,  4oz plied with thread.

Then, again just to spin something, I spun this Phat sample on my spindle, ~10 yards

And this weekend I pulled out my drum carder and I've been going every since! I met a girl at the fiber guild metting on Thursday and she joined me. LOOK!
First, SW Meino + Sheep Shed wool, 3.3 oz

SS Wool + Angelina, 3.7oz

More Phat samples, faux cashmere, wool, firestar, 1.1 oz

Tencel, Alpaca, Angelina, 4oz

Wool, SW Merino, Silk, 20z

And plied with a black wool single:

This one disappeared so I can't tell you for sure everything, but I'm thinking some fawn cashmere, some firestar, and some Alpaca, small like 1.2 oz?

Alpaca, silk noil, bamboo 3.5oz

red, white, and black wool + red firestar, 5.5 oz

white, indigo, and blue wool + purple firestar 5.7oz

Wool, 2.1oz each

And spun and plied together

And that's all I have today. I think.  Roll Eyes

Anyone else been a fiberista lately?

Wow, you've been a busy girl!  One of these years, I need to learn how to do this stuff, just so I can say I did... plus you never know when this kind of skill will be necessary, right?

Envious of your obvious skill at spinning and eye for color. Absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, but really? Nobody else has anything to share?

WONDERFUL fiber!!!  Tomorrow is World Wide Spin in Public day, so I'll have something to share next week!

On a side note,... anyone interested in a fiber/yarn swap?
I will be spinning in public tomorrow, though not as public as we were planning. But Yay! Public spinning! I miss spinning at the Farmer's Market.

And on that side note, YES! Fiber swap. Ooh, ooh, I know, I can send some batts! AHAHAHA!

Wow, you've been a busy girl!  One of these years, I need to learn how to do this stuff, just so I can say I did... plus you never know when this kind of skill will be necessary, right?
You do need to learn. Should I sent you a spindle kit?! And yes, sometimes it is necessary, like for the Hoopla vs Yarnie swap I didn't have enough of a certain yarn to even start a certain part of my project and I've been worried about when I will be able to get to Hobby Lobby before the SO date and then it hit me today: I MAKE YARN. I don't need that much so why not just make it? And I'm so glad I did! It adds to the project so much. I mean, it would've been nice anyway but man, this just tops it off. Why don't I use my handspun more often?

I've been busy with other crafting, I've noticed that I don't spin much when it starts to get cooler, too busy with knitting.  I definitely need to change that Cheesy

and then it hit me today: I MAKE YARN.

I always forget too! lol

Gorgeous yarns and batts.  I had my drum carder out recently and made this:

Which then became this:

Otherwise, I haven't been up to much lately. Not feeling very inspired for some reason.

jexxican and inle-rah, those are gorgeous batts and yarns! I want to pet them all... Cheesy

I have some things to share. I'm learning how to spin (for the 2nd time), and here are my first attempts! I have a small top whorl drop spindle.

Very first skein, roving that came with the spindle. It's .5 oz, and about 18 yards.

Then I bought some pink/purple roving called "Hyacinth" and spun that up. 4 oz total, 6 skeins that range from 10-18 yards.

Ooh, Inle-rah, that batt is amazing! And the yarn you spun from it rocks, too. Stats?

Indigo_roses, yay! A new spinner! It is lovely. I'm thinking either your spindle is really little or your yarn is really thick. Really loving the Hyacinth. Wow, pretty!

My new friend called to tell me that she spun for about 5 hours yesterday at least with the Learn to Spin kit I gave her! Hooray new addicts!
