In an effort to save money last year -- I made this dress out of curtains.  (Just how hideous were the curtains -- let's say the swag and two panels were all attached to each other.  Material was a chocolate milk colored satin.)

I wanted to try a little something different last year -- so I had my younger siblings (they live in Florida) draw what they wanted to be for Halloween.  Thankfully my little sister chose a princess with a brown dress.

Since they don't live in the same state as me, I had to do design it in a way that would be able to stretch to fit them.  The back, which you can't see has a shirred back.  The straps I sewed in the front, but had my mom sew them to the back of the dress.  What girl doesn't love bling?  The front has big giant rhinestones.

For the hat, I got a styrofoam cone, covered it in pink satin fabric and attached some tulle.  I then used rhinestones to make a crown.  It was super cute -- but heard from my little sister that it didn't want to stay on.

That was super sweet of you. It turned out great - I bet your sister was thrilled with it!

Lovely. They were hideous as curtains but they make a perfect princess dress.
