For the latest Whedonverse Swap I decided to make my partner a couple of hoops. I wanted to do the cross stitch designs myself and while I was trying to work out how to start I thought about the fact that I always connect Matryoshka dolls to Firefly and Serenity because of River's drawing. So I designed the chosen characters - queenofmarigold likes Wash, Kaylee and Mal - to have a nesting doll shape and made the patterns so that they were different sizes and put them in different size hoops.

Mal is in the smallest hoop.

Kaylee is in the middle.

Wash is the big guy.

The order of the hoops was determined by queenofmarigolds choice of favourites in order.

Here are the three hoops together, sorry it is such a poorly set-up photo.

I love the Kaylee! I don't suppose you would share your pattern?

I changed it a little as I went, but if you are interested I can scan them around the end of the week and link to them.
