E is for Edward
«

I made this tin for the Wicked Children Altered Tin swap. One of the prompts from my partner was Edward Gorey. I love Gorey and his little Ghastlycrumb Tinies so I knew right away I wanted to create something with them in mind. Soooo here he is...
Edward is made from paperclay, is is bed is an Altoid tin, the foot and head boards are coffee stir sticks. He's got a tiny pencil and Ghastlycrumb illustrations strewn over his bed. There's also a skeletal hand reaching out from beneath the covers... I imagine Edward would have slept with that rather than a teddy (unless it was a headless teddy).

Okay - so I've posted on FB, the swap thread, and now here. That's how completely awesome I think this is. Everything from his little wool blanket to his stripey little socks to the rhyme on the side of his bed. Fantastic!

Love the way you turned the tin into a mattress with classic mattress stripes. And the expression on his little face, and his scarf.

I think my favorite bit is the echo of the scarf in the stripey trim on the bed... which may sound like I'm quite particular (or peculiar), but there are so many little bits I love, I couldn't possibly list them all (did I mention the very particular way his hair fuzzes out? I love that, too).

As I said on the 'Wicked' thread, I think this is perfect. His little body is expressive, his hair is right. Everything about this little jewel is just so
right
.
Very inspiring, Knickers.

I'm afraid it's not very good but you can make out the skeletal hand in this one...

I so love this and you did a fabulous job. I love the Tinies because it has my name and a very fitting death for my doppelganger - S is for Susan who died of fits. Hee hee!
So fun and the whole Wicked Children swap was a hoot.
