Resin Bug Jewelry

I have to admit, working with resin is one of my favorite things to do. And my most favorite thing to cast in resin is beautiful bugs. Don't worry, they are dead when I cast them. Also, I never, ever kill a bug for this. Mostly, I find them dead but recently, I have become the lady that little kids save dead bugs for. I'm okay with that. I love preserving the beauty of these small creatures.

These first two are darkling beetles that a friend of mine gave me.





This one is a beetle that I've never seen before, but my young cousin found it for me and I love it.

That is so cool that you cast dead bugs in resin I do believe your mystery bug is a potato beetle. I haven't seen one in 14 years until today!

those are stunning, but as a side note..... I know that here (UK), discovery of potato bugs must be reported to DEFRA which is our Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. I'd get your cousin to check if you have any such local laws!

Ive always wanted to do that.. I actually had a dead bug in the back window of my car I swore I would do this to at some point but then it got too damaged and I never did.

because aparently they could destroy out potato crops. I dunno lol! it doesn't explain on the DEFRA website why you need to do it hahahaha.
