So, I usewd to have a pair of glittery red converse. I loved them and wore them til they fell off my feet, but converse don't make them anymore.... and I was sad  Cry

But what does a craftster gal do when she wants something no one makes? makes it herself is what, so that's what I darn tootin did  Grin

There are just under 6700 3mm hot0fix gems on these bad boys and I adore them! they are shinier in real life, the pic doesn't show them off very well. They look best when moving - ie when pretending to be able to tap dance purely as an excuse to draw attention to the shinyness of your shoes

I decided not to do the area around the  laces, or the tongues, but to fill in the the little gap between the lines of stitching in those areas..

in progress shot:

as you can see i used a hot-fix wand thingy. I know the crystals will fall off, especially around the bit that bends at the toe when I walk... but i wore them all weekend at a festival, did a fair amount of treking about and they are holding up pretty well.
I think I will replace any lost gems using a tiny dab of Uhu as that may be more flexible and so hold of better??? Any ideas on that?

cc always really appreciated!

Hmm. I have no ideas regarding increasing stickiness.

But if you like. You can send them here. And i will sit.  Wiggling my feet. Admiring sparkly feet. Ensuring the gems never fall off.  Grin

Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine the patience it took to make those, but it was worth it.  They look fantastic!

believe me, I am considering it as a new life path  Grin

Glad you like them, both of you! Actually I got pretty swift with the hot-fix wand so they didn't take as long as i first thought - and I found that longer sessions were better as I got into a rhythm with how long it took the glue to melt and re-harden.

These are beautiful shoes, for dancing, jumping...enjoying life.

For the glue, silicone maybe as it is pretty flexible.

Those are seriously awesome! I have a pair of silver sparkly converse and I love them too, I can't bear to think of the day when I can't wear them anymore.
