Zombie inspired hoops!

So I kind of went thematically with both of my partners on this most recent hoopla swap.  I have been watching the Walking Dead Season 2... and so I guess I have Zombies on my brain.... ARGHHH!!!!

For one partner I made this inspired by Shaun of the Dead... that is such a hilarious movie. I really enjoyed doing the research for that one...



I was trying something new with the cross hatching on the faces. I was worried it might look a bit racoonish... but I am happy with the way they turned out.  I really liked doing the hair on them as well.

I also watched Zombieland to be inspired for this next embroidered quote. It's a good safety precaution to remember when fighting Zombies, because you don't want them to come back alive again...



I did the red and green part with watercolour paint... I didn't want it to be to crunchy, I originally started a little lighter but against the vibrant text it didn't have the full impact so I went back through and darkened up all of it. This is the first time I have used watercolour paints before like this.. and I think I will definitely experiment a bit more with this kind of technique...

They're both great! I especially like the Shaun of the Dead one, but then that might be because it's one of my all time favorite movies. I really like how you did the colors in Shaun's hair, too.

I absolutely love Shaun of the Dead, it's such a hilarious movie and I love what you chose to depict!

And I really like the watercolor you used for the Zombieland one. It creates a really nice effect and makes it very vibrant!

Ha! I looooooove the Shaun of the Dead one! A couple of years ago I did my friend's makeup for a Zombie Walk through Downtown Dallas- it was awesome. He was Zombie Shaun. We heard this quote about a million times! It was great! Fantastic quirky job , my dear!

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorite movies! I love both of these - I want to try watercolor for tinting now!
