Gosh, I've been lurking here for years and love seeing all the genius things people create so it's about time I posted something myself.
My first not from a pre-made pattern cross stitch! Some very good friends of mine were married last year and as the bride is an illustrator and a huge geek she designed 8 bit images of her and her OH and their cats for the invites and everything else.

For their first wedding anniversary this year I decided to convert the design into cross stitch and send it to them.  I did this manually in an Excel spreadsheet and was super pleased with how it came out, plus I'm a huge Excel lover and enjoyed every second of it Tongue I got the text pattern free online and added it to the design after.
They were really pleased with it and I've since done a few more of my own designs. Gifts for family that can be posted here once they arrive in England Tongue

Allow me to be the first comment on your first post...This is so well done, I am glad you decided to share with us. I am positive that this was more than well received by the newlyweds. I would have loved to recieve if it were me. Groovy stuff!

This turned out fantastic! I always love how cross stitches look on black fabric, it just pops so well.
I would kiss someone forever if they made me a gift like this!

Just adorable! I agree with another commenter, the color combination on this is great. The purple/black background really highlights the colors and lovely tidy stitching!

I would love to do a personal swap for stuff for my lonely, empty walls!
