Be prepared for a bit of picture overload!

Scraps Scarf by SpinHeartSpin, on Flickr

I've been wanting to do this FOREVER.  This challenge finally gave me the kick in the pants to do it!  I've been saving the scraps, pieces that are edges of fabric, or long strips that would indeed be suitable to some sort of scrap quilting, but I'm not much of a quilter.  A Spinner I am, and spinning was my goal here.  I cut any pieces that were wider then 1/2 an inch down to 1/2 an inch, and got to spinning.

Obviously, I could make a lot more of these....

This is the only shot of the yarn I've got, as I didn't actually skein it, I just knit it straight off the bobbin.

And a few different shots of the scarf, not modeled:

And one more modeled by me Cheesy

Scraps Scarf, take 2 by SpinHeartSpin, on Flickr

It was knit in a simple 6 stitch drop stitch pattern, using single drop stiches and double drop stitches.   It's surprisingly warm, and comfortable!  It will go into my fall wardrobe for sure!

So much fun! You could make more of these (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I wish I'd thought of this before I got rid of all my scraps <4". Ah, but then again who has the time? You do and it turned out marvelously! Too bad I can't pin it.  Tongue

Your Flickr settings are set to where people can't pin your pictures and that translates over into C-ster when you post. It's cool, though. I don't have to pin everything I like.

Looks great.  I am very intrigued about how you spun fabric into yarn... I would love to know how it was done--ie how it was all pieced together.

Thanks ladies!
kjlutz, It's basically spun around/with a pencil roving I had.  But when I do it again, I can see if I can find some one to take pictures.  It's definitly a two hand process!

Thank you!   I nearly made it rainbow, but the pink/black just called out to me...  I think the next one will be browns purples and blues.
