I'm glad to hear your birdy is recovering, microjivvy.

I'm also glad to hear that you had a chance to abandon some art.  I LOVE your picture-in-a-picture; you are skilled in many things!

I've finally been able to abandon these!

I left the first box at a coffee shop and unfortunately didn't get a chance to take a picture.

The second one I left in a booth at a diner:


I left the third box on a windowsill in my apartment building:

I left this one on a wall in a park:

I went to the mall today for the pumpkin carving festival. While the talented man was busy carving at a 1200 lb monster pumpkin, I was trying to abandon another piece. I tried to leave it in a highchair at the foodcourt but my daughter was too sad to leave it so she fetched it when I wasn't looking...

Ok I'm back from my trip and finally all caught up so that I can sit down and write out this post.

I'm sure Onyxnox will be relieved to hear that I decided against abandoning any of her books at the airport   It's just not worth the risk of getting in trouble. But I did roam the streets of Seattle with one of my best friends and found some little places to drop them.

The first one was an old phone booth on the street. It looked so forlorn and abandoned that I had to put one there - I wish I could have staked it out to see if anyone would notice it. We passed by it again on our way back to my friend's apartment and it was still there.



Another one I clipped onto a "no Smoking" sign in front of a construction site. It's right on a busy road with plenty of foot traffic so I imagine that one has been found already.



My friend got so into the abandoning idea that she asked if she could abandon a couple on her own - she wanted to put one in a cute little terrarium display at her work (cafe) so she could watch to see who picked it up. Additionally she wanted to abandon one on her day trip to Las Vegas but I guess she chickened out with that one because there were cameras everywhere - that's understandable. She promises to get me pictures though so I will be sharing those in the near future!

And my very last wee book to abandon came with me to the grocery store when I got back home.



I'm kinda sad they're all gone now, except the one I kept for myself   But I do totally plan to keep abandoning art randomly.

sheep - I'm amazed you found a phone booth!

I really hope people are finding and loving these things. Maybe next time we implement tracking devices. Possibly expensive and against a law? But useful.

ARG - it has been rainy and crappy every time I have been out.  I think I am going to abandon my last two indoors.

I have picture of my last three abandonments!  I don't think I posted these last time, and I'm too rushed to go back and look.  It took me longer than I thought to abandon because I kept forgetting them (seems I'm always rushing out the door these days...).

Isn't it?  I was terribly demoralized when I found the one on the garbage.  But I was downtown on the weekend and abandoned at the large reference library there.  I took pictures, but they are on my ipod so I need to find the cable for that.  One of the items was gone when I left, and the other was still there.  I will try to find and post pics after.  They were the last items. 

Has anyone else other than Sheepblue gotten a response?
