Crafting to keep insanity at bay.

Holy cow!!! I have already received an email from the sweet family that found the star!!

"On this beautiful day in late September my family and I set off from mid-town Toronto for a hike and picnic in the Rouge Valley.   Just as we set out on the trail, my youngest son noticed something hanging from a branch.   It was a rustic looking star tied to a tree with a note " please take me home"!  How curious we thought.  A second "wordy' note was quickly apparent.  "Probably a religious message", I quickly surmised.  But no, it was more than that.  It was a lovely hand made craft offered as a simple token of thoughtfulness.

It now hangs in our kitchen reminding us to be thoughtful in our own lives.

Thank you!

Susan and family."

What a great note Sheep!  While reading all of our responses to the complete projects I kept thinking to myself "I hope that the recipients are half as excited about the work as we are".  That note confirms that art & acts of kindness are not lost on others!  YAY! Cheesy

YES!!!  I was worried that it may not be found soon enough, even though I put it near the trail - so happy it was found and you got a note back so soon - so AWESOME!!!!

I will abandon at the local university campus tomorrow - when we take Ginger to the dog park near there!

I'm stealing your note and updating my blog - I posted about the abandonment yesterday.

If we go to the university campus today - it is actually an old farm property that was donated to the university many many years ago, and the old farm house was converted to a conference/entertainment hall/gardens, there is community gardens off the one side, tennis courts down the way, a baseball field, a soccer field, a dog park, and is connected to a large public park, and a walkway to the campus proper.  There should be a good response there.  I will take pics too.

wow, that is lovely and encouraging for the whole project.  I need to get to work and finish up today, so many little steps.
Also I love that the sweet note came from my town, I'm also in Toronto Smiley

I abandoned the second piece today, leaving the doll shrine on the emergency phone at the coach house of the property when we took the dog out.  It is just off the parking lot, and near the tennis courts, and sitting between the entrances of the washrooms.  It is under an overhang, so it should be safe from the elements for the most part.

It's a really pretty property that abuts against a large parkland with trails, and attracts sports teams, walkers, dog owners, tennis players, students - it's just a nice place to visit on the weekend for a nice walk or bike ride.

Here is what it looks like around there:

Here is one last pic of the poor abandoned little schoolgirl...
