Just finished this today. I used red canvas, white trimming, and a sharpie to accent the black lines. I made it for my son who is Mario World obsessed.

Yeah, I cut out all the hexagons and pieced them together using points from a couple to fill in the gaps on the side edges like the shells look in the pictures. He adores it, thank you. ^.^
