R2D2 Baby Quilt

I'm so excited to have finished the first major project for our January baby's nursery: an R2D2 quilt! No pattern -- just made it up as I went along using lots of reference photos from the movies. All of the fabrics are from JoAnn's. Approx. 36" x 48".

Kept the back very simple on purpose. I figured there was enough happening on the front. Love the effect of the rounded corners up top.

Used my machine's zig zag stitch for the embroidery on the back. It's not perfect, and got even wonkier after quilting, but overall I think it works.

Thanks for all the kind words! Unfortunately, I don't think I could translate the scribbles on scraps of paper laying all over my sewing room into any semblance of a pattern... Wish I could!

And as for a mobile -- yes, that's exactly what I was thinking, bunny1kenobi! I have friends of a friend who have a laser cutter, so I might have them cut some tie fighters and death stars and whatnot out of thin wood or acrylic or something.
