Wedding pillow

I wanted to learn oldfashioned Swedish wool embroidery, and at the same time I suspected my dear friend S was about to get married. Why start with something easy? I bought black wool and drew the pattern with inspiration from old wedding pillows from southern Sweden. The wreath is the size of a regular dinner plate (I know because I used one to draw it) I was about halfway done  when i got the wedding invitation! Sewing the pillow together was scary but it worked out nicely. The wonky-looing corner in thes picture is actually straight. I made an opening in the back in case they need to take the pillow out, but i forgot to take a picture of the back.


The pillow was a huge hit at the wedding!
