I'm guilty of something. Like many of us, I rarely ever make something for myself, but this time around is different!

I am a high school teacher and a mother of two elementary age children. My mornings are normally hectic and loud. I fix breakfast for my little ones every morning but I tend to forget to do so for myself which can lead to all kinds of bad drive thru habits. This year, I decided this needed to change! I am going to carry my breakfast to work with me so that I can eat in peace. Smiley

To help me along, I decided I needed a spiffy carrier so here's my creation...my breakfast bag! (Can't very well call it a lunch bag because that's is not its purpose!)

I took this boxy pouch tutorial and made my own modifications. I increased the dimensions of the original pattern from 8" x 6" to 12" x 10". I added a layer of Insulbright between the exterior fabric and the lining. I also added handles.

To make this bag, I repurposed an old pair of denim capris that had some machine embroidery along the bottom. I used the embroidered edges to create some pretty little pockets on both sides.

My breakfast bag easily fits one of those rectangular gladware containers and I could add some cut up fruit as well. I'm so excited to try my new bag out next week! Cheesy

Clever of you to save the embroidery parts!

Looks like you can hold all sorts of yummy breakfasts (the most important meal of the day!)...

Do you need to put in one of those freezer things or does the insulate keep things cool?

The Insulbright would keep it cool but I'd probably add a freezer pack to it anyway. Smiley
