09/07/12 - You can now upload images directly into your post!

Ok, so it's been explained to me but I might not really get it completely so I apologize. The gist is, though, that it's not possible to upload files on an iPad or similar things.  Supposedly you can get an app to do it? Maybe one related to Photobucket? It's not completely clear to me but I do know it's not actually anything we can fix, it's how Safari works on those machines.  Sorry!

Is the file limit still there if we do it that way or did you guys make it go away all together?

The limit should have increased no matter which way you do it.

One thing that bugs me, and it may just be me I don't know, is that I can't drag and drop text into the text box anymore. I can't even drag and drop within the text box! Is that right? Anyone else having that issue? I do that a lot but I can't anymore!

I love this feature! I've already used it for a few swap uploads

One thing I noticed...I uploaded some photos using the new feature to a swap gallery (this one http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=411690.0) and when I click "Show Images Only," they don't show up in the list.

You have to wait overnight for any images to be pulled into Show All Images. That's when the magical Craftster fairies go in and compile all the new stuff into features like that or in search, etc.  It's actually site-wide, no matter what!

  It has always been an option. I click and drag text all the time because I'm kind of crazy and sometimes my thoughts need reorganizing so other people can make sense of what I'm trying to get across, but now I have to actually "cut" and "paste" and it drives me nuts! More nuts! Mmmm... nuts... sorry. I should eat. But YES, I used to be able to drag text and now I can't and I understand if you can't fix that problem or really don't care, since it really only seems to affect me and one member isn't enough to fix a glitch for, but it still makes me sad. I'll get over it!

Ahh, drag and drop text.  It is not available in the full reply window.  Sorry about that.  You can still do it in the Quick Reply view, though.

The reason you can't drag and drop text is because you can actually drag and drop your image files to save even more time with uploading.  It's actually pretty amazing!

Here's a little tutorial!  I'm currently on Mac & Google Chrome, so interfaces will vary:

So here I am, happily typing my reply with an image file waiting for me on my desktop.


Then I just drag and drop it directly the button and it automatically uploads and inserts into my post -- no menus, no additional clicking.  So fast.  Voila!

I figured that's what it was. I don't know what the Quick Reply is though. Did I miss that? I think I did a drag and drop in a PM today without realizing it, so at least I still have that. Thanks for the explanation!

You're welcome!  Quick Reply is a feature you can enable to appear at the bottom of the screen.  It's the most basic form of replying/basic features.  It's great for replying to threads, but I never use it for posting tutorials or projects.  Here's more info:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=353910.0
