Hey!
Have you avoided using Craftster Photo-hosting in the past because it took too many steps? Because it wouldn't accept pictures of a certain size? Have you never used Craftster Photo-hosting because you felt your hosting method was easier?
Well, we've made some
BIG improvements and I encourage everyone to give Craftster Photo-hosting another go!
Here are the main awesome features we've
just added.
- You can upload photos directly into your reply! No more multiple windows!
- You can now upload much bigger pictures! (Seriously, you probably won't reach the limit!)
When you use the regular reply method (not
Quick Reply), you'll now see this fancy dealy right under the post area that looks like this:

Once you're to a point in your post where you want to insert a photo, just hit "Choose a File" and a finder window will pop up with your computer's files. Select the photo you want. Here's what it looks like for me (I'm on a Mac.), but your computer may differ.
(ooh, I was adding my photo and just used it. so meta!)
Look! Picture!!

I also have the option of making it a thumbnail:

Thumbnails done this way, however, ARE NOT CLICKABLE! So please only use them when necessary. We love big images and we cannot lie.
(This particular photo started off so small that the effect isn't very dramatic. Sorry!)
Or marking it "mature":
to change your image viewing settings please click hereThe photo will automatically go to the very end of your post, so it's most efficient to upload a photo right where you want it as you type. If you forget a picture or want to add them later, it's no biggie! You can just copy and paste the picture coding from the bottom to wherever you'd like it.
We doubt that you'll find the file size limit, since while testing we uploaded an image that was almost 11MB! Keep in mind, however, that the photos do get resized down to 500 pixels wide, so if you want the image to be seen full size you'll either have to upload it as an attachment (if you're a
Tutorial Contributor!) or have it linked from elsewhere (it would have to be a link because photos are always automatically resized). Also know that if you select a larger image it may take longer to process. I personally haven't noticed it to be slower than the previous method of uploading directly into your gallery (which you can still do!); I actually think it's faster!
These pictures go directly to your photo-hosting gallery. If you want to go back and edit the title and description there, you're welcome to! Just go to your photo-hosting gallery by selecting My Craftster at the top, then My Picture Hosting.

If you are new and have fewer than 10 posts, this option isn't available to you. Sorry!

You can still go to your photo-hosting as described above and upload pictures there. Then come back and put in the links.

Also something to note is that we may make cosmetic changes to this especially in the "Other Photo Upload Options" area. If you have any input feel free to share it.

We hope this makes you as happy as it makes us! Now, go forth and share those photos!!!
Edited to add. Here's a shortcut method!
You can also drag and drop your
image files to save even more time with uploading. Here's a little tutorial! I'm currently on Mac & Google Chrome, so interfaces will vary:
So here I am, happily typing my reply with an image file waiting for me on my desktop.

Then I just drag and drop it directly the button and it automatically uploads and inserts into my post -- no menus, no additional clicking. So fast. Voila!
