Crafting to keep insanity at bay.

So here's a hoopla I did for an awesome personal swap with kawaiihelen. We both screen print and embroider so we decided to do a hoopla for each other embellishing on prints that we made ourselves.

I have a flamingo ballerina print that I love and she loves so I had to use that to start with. And what good self-respecting ballerina doesn't have a fancy tiara or other headgear? Each bead was stitched on individually. Then I colored up some boring lace with paint and stamp ink for some ground for them to flounce upon, and stitched over that with some wandering vines.

gorgeous! I love your colours.  The technique is great, and it's best that it's your own print and your own embellishing by embroidery.  Would love to see more unique work like this!

That is awesome! Your beadwork looks really well done.

The one in the middle looks like she wants to go to Vegas. Grin

That is so cute/funny!!  I love the flamingo print by itself but with the beading, ribbon, and embroidery it is even more awesome.

Maybe I'll try something similar in one of my upcoming crafty adventures!
