hi,

Came across this idea on another site and wondered if anyone would be interested.

Basically you alter playing cards - put a journalling prompt on one side and 'do' the prompt on the other. We all end up with lots of different prompts and lots of ideas for using them.

This sounds like a lot of fun. However, I'm not sure if I would have an opening anytime soon.  Undecided

This sounds fun! Would we have more than one partner? Would it be only one card per person or what? Not quite understanding the particulars, but sounds like fun!

the site I saw it on did a 13 card swap - but cards sent to organiser who then shuffled them and sent back out, which I don't really like, and isn't allowed on here.

From formats that I've seen on here there are a couple that I like:
with set partners and a set number of cards per partners (probably up to 3 partners and up to 3 cards each)
with a group of up to 5 swappers, each sending 1 or 2 cards to each, with the opportunity to join more than one group depending on previous feedback and FOC status (would want a co-org for this one).

I would go with the most popular option but either way it would be up to each person as to how many cards they wanted to swap.
It would be a stalking free swap (you choose the prompt, and interpret it your way), so it would be possible to start crafting now if people wanted :p

I would also be looking to run further rounds if it went down well, so that people have the opportunity to complete a whole pack of cards.

I do to.

think even doing the cards would help break me out of my current comfort zone, especially if I chose prompts that challenged me!

I like the idea of swapping groups. And I'm totally up for this.

And I found this: http://www.craftycupid.com/index.php/cc/entry/alttered-playing-cards-for-journal-prompts/

I think we can skip the hole-punching and personally, I would decorate both sides.

Great link Smmarrt - thank you Smiley

I agree - skip the hole punching, and I probably would do both sides as well

I like this link & also the hole, but after done decorating both sides. I would either put it in a cover like the baseball card holders & them punch a hole & put them on a ring or a shower curtain circle. I've use them to make a ring for a baby ring that has pics of family & friends etc. Just a thought. I do love the idea!  Cheesy

I'm replying to bump this up on the list and to say again that I'd like to do this.
