CRAFTING KEEPS ME FROM GOING CRAZY!!!!

So I was wondering if there would be any intrest to haveing a swap where a crocheter would be paired with a knitter and visa versa. They would each make something for thier partner. I love to crochet, and cant quite get the hang of the knitting but there are so many adorable knit patterns out there. I know that there are others out there who would love to exchange one for the other. If there is any intrest let me know. If there is intrest I would open up the signups in a week or two with and have sendouts a month after that. Hope there is intrest.

I might be interested (I do both Smiley) but would depend on the size of the swap, and the crafting time, as I'm not very fast.

I looked quickly the other day to see what they made, but I didnt find the site.

I am happy that there are people interested. I was thinking of a Month long crafting time and a medium size project. I am not sure what that would amount to for a knitter. But I will think on in more.

Think I'd be interested in this one. I'm a crocheter. Have tried knitting through the years, but just not something I've been able to master. Would love to have something knitted for me.

Hey! Hello too all...........
I'm new here, in fact I just finished registering. I saw the swap suggestion and in another group I am in we do them monthly. It sounds like a great idea. What would be the guidelines as to the item being made to swap?

Firstly - WELCOME!

as to your question - it depends on the swap, but usually the sign up questionnaire has sections asking what you would like made for you, colour preferences and sizes needed (more for clothing) and another section asking you what you would be happy making.
After that it's up to you to stalk you partner and for the two of you to communicate to make sure you have got colours/items etc right for each other and if you are sending 'extras' Smiley

This is a very friendly site, organisers are very friendly and the mods and other swaps are always around if there are problems or if you have questions.

It looks like the last swap of this type was in 2010, so I dont think there is much chance of stepping on anyone's toes re organising! I have just finished crafting for the hoopla vs yarnies swap and need something new to work on, so I really hope that this swap goes ahead! (soon!! haha) Cheesy

Waiting is so-o-o-o-o hard! But okay, I'll just spend the time thinking about what to list on my "I want" and "I can make" lists. Super glad this swap is a "go". Just won blue ribbons at our county fair on both of my crochet baby items as well as the grand prize for a baby afghan I made for my great-niece's baby. Anyone want baby items? Think I'm on a roll and am looking for a new challenge. Grin

I absolutely love knitted socks, but don't have the nerves to knit myself a pair. Whenever I give it a try they don't fit.

23rd is okay by me. I have to write a few more comments and posts so I can join.  Wink

This would be so much fun!  Cheesy I can knit or crochet but I don't do to many fancy stiches in either one. I'm also a little slow. The 23rd or the 30th would be fine, then my other swaps would be pretty much done & sent by then.

Totally interested! Hopefully I will have room. I crochet, admire knits. Last time there were more crocheters, though, so maybe I'll sit it out. We'll see. The longer we wait for sign up the better because then maybe I can get an open swap spot?

I have taken the bull by the horns and am trying to learn how to knit... depending on when signups are, I may be able to join as a knitter if things are a bit wonky ( I may also be talking out my backside, as I have no idea how long learning to knit is going to take me!)

thanks for the hint I think will stick to sewing.  Lol Wink  Funny though I have a friend who makes a bunch of costumes and uses hot glue, He claimes it holds better than sewing. I just find it a travesty to hot glue clothes seams together.
