Dinosaur Christmas!

I know I know this is a bit late in the day, you're all probably fed up with Christmas and are trying to move on with the new year but I can't let this one go with out sharing with you guys just cause it was so much fun!

The studio where I go do my printing had a big open day just before the big event and I ran a little stall so you could come and have a go printing your own dinosaur Christmas stocking! (They'd set the main theme of the whole day as dinosaurs)!!

I made the design up on photoshop using good old Nordic knitting patterns and silhouettes of my favourite dinosaurs. This was then printed onto acetate and transferred onto the silk screen using the photo emulsion method. I cut a stocking shaped paper stencil which I attached to the back of the screen with parcel tape to keep it in place.

I used a white plastisol ink, which is oil based to print with as I thought it would be more opaque on the red fabric than using a water based one. It did turn a tiny bit pinker after drying but I think you wouldn't really notice





I also submitted a design for the have a go tshirt printing. A fun T-Rex with a party hat!
