Skull quilt

My skull quilt is finally (mostly) done.  I still need to trim a few threads and quilt the eye sockets, but it is otherwise done. The pattern is called "Basket Case" by Boo Davis. It can be found in her book Dare to Be Square.  My version is smaller than the original - I made my blocks 9" square instead of 12".
Here it is hanging on the neighbors wall:

The quilt is all machine quilted except for the nostrils:

And the back.  I made wonky log cabin blocks.  Kinda like two quilts in one:

I love it! I have the same quilting book, and this is definitely on my list to make ^_^

I think I spent a couple of days watching a Law and Order marathon while I pieced it.  The quilting took longer.
