I made this mini quilt for a recent IYP swap. My swap partner liked blue, green and purple so I picked out some of my favorite prints in those colors from my stash. I liked the light gray as a neutral with it to make the fabrics pop. Initially I had another two columns to add to this, but I stitched them on incorrectly, and when I ripped them off to stitch them on in the right place, I realized I liked it this size better.

For the quilting I did a straight line paralleling the colored corners, then a zigzag line, and then another straight line. All the negative space made a fun quilting area to highlight the corners!

The fourth picture down here is the inspiration pic that my swap partner had pinned. I changed it a bit but tried to go with the general idea.

This is great! Always a fan of negative space. I just can't stop looking at it! It's amazing!

Also, your blog just told that I'm not allowed to look at it because it might give me a virus. Just FYI.

Thanks!

Oh well that's weird. Hmmm I wonder what I should do? I wonder if it's a Blogger/Blogspot problem or something specifically with my page?

Beautiful quilt! I love how the colors and shapes ripple through and I'm a huge fan of gray. It's not often seen as the main color of a quilt.

Oh wow, that is absolutely beautiful. I love all the corners that go through, and the "empty" space is such a beautiful pattern!

Love the colors, the design, the quilting -- everything, MareMare!  This would make a great full size quilt, too, and perfectly adaptable to any color scheme.
