Man, I love Halloween. It's my favorite season to craft for. Michaels is carrying feathered ravens, so I brought one home, dressed it up, gave it a key, and perched it on some wooden blocks. The striped spool is handpainted and sanded, while the other two blocks are vintage and come by their patina honestly. Although I did add the clear spider sticker for some extra fun.

I wanted to give him a little collar, and I had some vintage lace that I love, but it was too stark, so I gave it a wash with some orange acrylic paint to match his hat. It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but there's a black star on the front of the party hat.

I think I'll name him Lucifer.

EDIT: Well, Lucifer has left the nest, so I made him some siblings. Meet the twins, Gregor and Jasper. Cheesy

a well accessorized bird! i have to say that the spider sticker adds a great touch to the whole weathered stand that he sits-- i really also like that part a lot.

Rackycoo, you make such creative items!  When they are not made for a swap, what do you do with them, if you don't mind me asking.

Some I keep, some I give away. I am usually pretty attached to things I make for a while, and then I get tired of them, so I don't mind if I let them go.  Cheesy

He is great - and I'm so intrigued with your old blocks - why do I never find things like that??  I need to happen upon a cool old junk store someday...

I got some from a junk store, but that bottom block I got from etsy. It came from a set of puzzle blocks, where each side has a different part of a picture. I mostly bought them to craft with, but I love them so much that I have a plain stack of them on one of the shelves in my craft room.
