How to sew in a label ?

Hi, im new to this discusion board... and i make purses and wallets, and little accesories... i actually had an incident were someone bought one of my items well a couple and since i didnt have a label on them. they started saying it was there project and they made it ... i dont know why people can be so mean... but anyways i have been researching on making labels myself. so how to sew a label on my projects? and also were should i put them on my projects? ... sorry for the long explanation and many questions! but any one please help!

I make bags & other stuff & also make my own labels using my tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231400.0;all. I basically put my labels inside on my lining, on the left side, if there is a pocket, I will put it in the pocket. Here is a pic:


Since my labels have fusible webbing on the back side, I iron it to the lining then I zigzag over the edges to make it looked finished.

I was recommended to make an outside label to sew in the seams like you see some bags have, but I don't know if I'll ever do that - don't want to go overboard w/the labels.

Just look at bags that you have & go off of that - most times it's on the back side of the bag.

if you ordered a custom stamp, you could use cotton tape and acrylic/fabric paint

I make purses and bags as well.  I make my labels by printing my name and logo on T-shirt transfer paper and then ironing onto ribbon.  I just sew the ribbon into the lining of the bag.  Usually at the top of a pocket or just below the zipper on a zippered pocket.  I haven't added one to any wallets yet.

I just cut out a little rectangle of material, sew my logo onto the bottom half (so far it's just my logo as I don't know how to sew letters, although I think I will be trying to do this by hand soon). Then I fold in half, with the logo on the inside, and sew the two sides, leaving the top. Finally I reverse the fabric and sew into the hem at the top.

It's a little time consuming but I think it's worth it.

I've been thinking about labels too, or even sewing on the initials of my company; I make plush toys, keychains, and magnets, and have been trying to figure out how to label them. Thanks for the ideas
