My son moved in to his dorm room today. I just finished his quilt at midnight last night-phew that was cutting it close!

I cut stencils for the center squares and stenciled them with textile paint before sewing it all together. ALl of the designs are symbols from my son's favorite  geeky and sci-fi books, movies, tv shows, video games and web sites. My son is my sci-fi movie watching buddy. I'm really going to miss him when he is away at school. Making this quilt was therapy for me. It's not perfect but I feel better thinking of him sleeping under it when he is away at school  Cheesy

Hyperbole and a Half web site, Hitchhiker's Guide, Firefly, Harry Potter, Portal, Big Bang Theory

Moon, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Zelda, Doctor Who, Doctor Horrible, xkcd, Star Wars, Strong Bad (Trogdor)

Oh, my. This is the magical quilt of awesomeness and happiness. Are you SURE you didn't make this to send to a random Craftster-er who admires it so? I can't even pick a favorite square, there's just too much geeky happiness to choose from! This is FANTASTIC. Great job!

Oh thank you so much! I would like to think of it as magical-with all the worrying and praying for my son's happiness  that occurred while making it!

I love this quilt! Any geeky person would love it. And I love your color choices.  Amazing! I now want to learn to quilt so I can make one for me Wink

I think this has to be the most awesome quilt ever!  I love all of the super geeky yet awesome show and movie references.  I also love the border.
