It's an interesting story (google it), different parts of Canada used to celebrate it on different days and for different reasons but in 1957 Parliament proclaimed 'A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed – to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October.'

I'm crafting away. The item I have been working on for the last couple weeks or so is turning out cute. Usually I wouldn't attempt a project that takes so long, but this swap is perfect since the craft time is so long. I am also working on some small stoocking stuffers that work up quick (only a couple hours). Those are turning out great.

I own stockings that point in each direction but whenever I make them, if they aren't two-sided then they always point to the left if you are looking at it face on.  I'm odd like that though, if there is a choice between right and left, I ALWAYS choose left 

I too have a swap journal, I use a lovely leatherbound journal that I got in a swap and I'm so horrible because I can't remember who sent it to me!  In my defense though, it was in a crafty detective swap, so it wasn't a swap where you get to know your partner, you just receive something from someone special one day!

OH! And I am taking a break from stocking creating right at this moment, I'm totally winging it but I think it's coming out quite rad.
I also picked out a pattern for a _______, which was specifically mentioned as a wish.  I'm excited to work on it after I finished another project of the same medium.

I just need more _____ for the stocking! And to pick up some _______... That's on my to-do list. I've got a pattern drafted for it, but haven't cut or sewn anything for it...
However, all my planned bought extras are done... Now just to find random things and to get started crafting! I've got a list of things to do, I've just been working on family Christmas plus birthday parties, plus a Halloween party soon... :/

All of my stockings I've made are reversible... Right or left side hanging. But from when I was a kid (store bought ones, anyway...), all of them are made facing the right/make an 'L'. Also, all the ones from childhood have no cuff, but all the ones I make have them. I'd never thought about any of that before.

So pleased i re-started the _____________ - it turned out much better second time around, and is now finished
Thats 1 thing down, a few more to go.

Will go shopping next weekend and hoping that they still have the _____________ and _______________ that I saw a while ago (before this swap) because I think my partner will really like them. Even batter - a couple of shops in town have started to display Christmas things, so will be keeping eyes open for extras
