Flying squares wall hanging

I discovered the "flying squares" quilt block in an old copy of "The New Quilting and Patchwork Dictionary."  As the copyright is 1988, the new in the title is a bit of a misnomer.  I decided it was the perfect block to use with some bright fabric to lighten up my small hallway.

It was a fun and easy little project.  I really love the block. It is a great way to use up scraps, and it kind of reminds me of a chunky pinwheel.
