So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains.

I looked around for a bit on past swaps and swap ideas and didn't see anything... But I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a board game/card game themed swap? I've been tabletop gaming a lot lately (in fact it's becoming an addiction yet again) and I thought it'd be fun to do a swap themed around it if anyone else were interested. I know some of you have to be as geeky as me...

Some general ideas for items could be:
Crafts made out of board/card games (such as the above Monopoly jewelry box, or even game-piece jewelry), crafts referencing or representing favorite games, homemade games from your own ideas, re-envisionings of existing games (there's like a million ways to do variants), thrifted games themselves, or even nice versions of free Print And Play games (I sit on boardgamegeek.com a lot and they have some great ones available--- a printer and maybe some laminate could make for a lovely swap item along with some pretty dice/game pieces).

Swappers could list in a questionnaire their favorite games, their favorite game types (strategy, RPG, wargames, etc.), the kind of in-game items they may need or want (dice, pawns, counters), and things like that.

I think it'd be a pretty easy and fun swap.
I also dig open/random swaps that have more open rules regarding size (I like when you and your partner can craft for each other what you agree on, without adhering to point systems. I feel like it helps everyone stay within their means and gives everyone a chance to swap who may not be interested otherwise due to "large" items being mandatory). I'm also a fan of extended crafting times (3+ weeks).

If anyone's interested maybe it can come to fruition!
I've personally never organized and I'm currently in the middle of doing my second swap, but if there were enough interest in doing a swap like this, maybe someone experienced with doing so could organize, or once my second swap ends (the end of September) maybe someone would be interested in co-organizing?

Ahh, yes, nice. That's about on par with something I'd like to see happen. Provided I prefer Euro games, but I realize most people probably prefer more mainstream ones. Maybe not though. Regardless! I think it's be so fun to have another swap like that.

I organized the board game swap johnson.mom2two gave the link to. If there's interest, I can organize another round in the same time frame or thereabouts. I've been planning to.
Euro games were always welcome and last round grew to include card games.

I'd love this!  My whole family is nuts about board games. Every single person in our large extended family has a Pollyanna board game. Smiley  My oldest brother collected the vintage versions.   And I am hooked on train board games, myself!  And cribbage and backgammon and and and ... Woo!

Oooh, train board games! I'm a big fan of Ticket To Ride. If you've never played it I highly recommend it (though I like some of the other versions of it more compared to the core game.
I've never played the Pollyanna board game, but there sure are some awesome vintage games floating around out there. I was looking at some the other day on Etsy and holy crap, there's a ton of them and they're all so... vintage. Lol.
