Wow, how did you get Rumplestiltskin's name on there so small?  That is so cool!

I printed up the image from Photoshop and used liquid clay to transfer it onto the blade. Smiley And Thanks!

Challenge: Geronimo Challenge & Astronomy
House: ravenclaw
Project: more socks

two completely identical socks.... in honour of the weasley boys, and of course the twins of the zodiac Gemini  Grin

Actually, I had some difficulty keeping these matching. Even through I used the same wool from the same colour batch, the variegations didn't happen in the same places (including the sudden jump to navy that I put at the heel - it ended up there naturally on the first sock which I thought was perfect, but then not on the second sock) - any experienced knitters know why that happened or how I can avoid it? I really can't work it out as I'm sure i did exactly the same thing on on both socks!

They were knitted on a circle loom, with 32 pegs. I just use a standard heel method (it came with the loom. ditto the toe method) and make the ankle/foot part as long as necessary for the intended recipient.
I used Sidar brand 'Indie' wool in tahoe 166
It's super chunky wool, which is really too chunky for that loom - it wasn't easy to knit it - but I really liked the colours of the wool so I thought I'd give it a go Smiley they have come out very dense, wearable but I am glad they will be worn in big heavy hiking boots by my brother who is a forest warden. Back to chunky for the next pair I think! It's a shame as I felt the chunky wool didn't give quite a thick enough finish and I can't find an inbetween weight.

So much great stuff guys!  I've been crazy busy, what with Hallowe'en and then I had to travel for a week so baby girl could meet her godparents and some of DH's family.  I only just got back!  I have so much crafty craziness to do in the next two weeks: finish baby's stocking so I can decorate on the 1st, make my NaKniSweMo sweater, make some more photo props for a friend, and hopefully make a Christmas wreath!
