Class/Challenge/House Pride: November Quidditch Challenge - Craft for a Cause
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Socks for Sandy
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)

I took jillybean's idea on this one. I found a fleece sock pattern free online and picked up some fleece remnants from Walmart the other day along with a bunch of other items I'm donating at the Salvation Army/News 12 NJ drive for Sandy this afternoon. The items are guaranteed to go stay in Jersey, which is important to me since I live here. There has been an incredible outpouring of support to NYC which is awesome and much needed, but I wanted to help my fellow New Jersians. I made 5 pairs of fleece socks in various colors.

Yay Abbeeroad!  Love the fleece socks!  Mine were just going to be dumb tube sock ones that I've made in the past, though they are really comfy.  Man, I need to get on that!  I totally borrowed my mom's sewing machine so that I can get started but now I just need to find time.  Perhaps tomorrow night!

I go away for a few days (totally HP related, of course - I went to the HP Studio Tour!  Grin) and the board explodes with some great projects!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Nov Quidditch: Craft for a Cause
House: Slytherin
Brief Description: As I posted previously the author Debbie Macomber has been doing a yearly drive to gather cozy goodness made by fans and friends and distribute them among affiliated charities.  This is my 3rd year sending and so I sent 3 things- 2 m/L loom-knit hats in Bernat Soft Baby Steps "Blue Earth" which is nice and well, soft. The third item is the blanket and hat set I made for the SPEW thread also in Soft Baby Steps, this one in "Cherry Cola" color.

Good News: I happily mailed out the package today!
Bad News: I forgot to get a pic of the blue hats!

I will accept the call of the faculty as to whether or not this will count.  I thought I had done a pic of all of it but it's not here, so clearly I got distracted (shocker.)  I did it not for the points but to support the drive so I'm ok either way.

But, so there's something to look at:

Yeah...so I've been seriously MIA...as I'm trying to actually get into the habit of responding...and... ya know...posting!  I hope that everyone is having a great time with the challenges on here as much as I am.

Here is are some pictures of some of the pieces I'll be using for one of my shadowboxes.  I really wanted to get this one done first as it is my mom's christmas present!!

This pictures aren't much.  The poem I wrote and the bind rune is something I put together.  The picture I actually want to use as a faded background on the shadowbox.

I was slightly hesitant to jump in, seeing how the thread has 66 pages of crafting goodness already, but half the fun of crafting (to me) is sharing, so I figured why not?  Cheesy

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Gemini Challenge
House: Well... Pottermore sorted me into Ravenclaw but I've always felt more like a Hufflepuff and I suppose Ravenpuffs aren't allowed soo...... I'm going to stick with Hufflepuff.
Project Name: Rumplestiltskin's Dagger
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I hope this fits the requirements, I'm not entirely sure since it's my version of a replica yet I seem to have dropped a few drops of shrinking potion on it. Wink  Rumplestiltskin's dagger from Once Upon A Time (picture link:http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2yoorl5X21qznarh.png) is one of my favourite props on the show so I had to try my hand at making a miniature version to be worn as jewelery. It is made from Premo polymer clay - which thankfully has quite a bit of flexibility to it after baking and even though the blade is only a millimeter thick it bends and slowly relaxes back into shape rather than breaking.  The whole thing is only 3inches long. Class/Challenge/House Pride: Transfiguration
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Voodoo Doll charm
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: My spell must have gone slightly awry somewhere as my beetles turned into buttons..made of polymer clay. I didn't want to let them go to waste so I used them for eyes on this little voodoo doll charm I was making. He's just a hair over an inch tall and looks a little bit sad but then I suppose given his job in life, it's to be expected. Wink

So much awesomeness!

@pottermouth, I love the soot sprites! Are they circles of fake fur with gathered edges, or did you sew them in pieces like a baseball, or...

@Abbeeroad, I think the pair of socks should count for the Gemenio Challenge...

@pinkleo, those hats are adorable and amazingly numerous! My husband used to take donations to Pine Ridge every winter. He loved the beautiful country and getting to know the people. I know they will really appreciate the hats.

Challenge: September detention (finally!)
House: Hufflepuff
Project: The Cowl Jumped Over the Moon

I've had this kit ever since Sock Summit 2011 and I finally finished it! I didn't do the edging because I liked the look of the curling stockinette edges (and I wasn't sure about the effect of all that orange!), so I also have a small skein of the orange left to use for something else.

WELCOME TO HUFFLEPUFF, andCuriouser! It's always good to meet another OUaT fan, and that dagger is amazing!
