Class/Challenge/House Pride: History of Magic
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Dreaming of a Hogwarts Christmas Charm Bracelet
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=416609.0
Brief Description: I have been trying to think of a project to do that could be inspired by a member of the original Order of the Phoenix.  I realized however, that I had kept focusing on members who had passed on, and was overlooking those who battled Voldemorte twice.  Once I got over that hangup, it was easy to pick a member to craft something for.  Hagrid.  Good old lovable, dependable, and loyal friend Hagrid.  Who loves both Hogwarts and Dumbledore with all his half-giant heart.  One of the things I loved best about the HP books, was the small background moments, that occur between other major plot points.  Specifically moments like the Easter & Christmas holidays, when you get to see people relaxing and enjoying themselves.  I loved how Harry always noted that Hagrid had single-handedly dragged in 12 Christmas trees to decorate the great hall. (And how Prof. Flitwick always seemed to be around to charm up some everlasting snow!) Therefore, here is my creation.  A charm bracelet celebrating of all things Christmassy, complete with enchanted never-melting snow.

Project Picture:

The charms include Christmas trees, snowflakes, Santa in his sleigh, trumpeting angel, bells, stockings, holly, December 25th calendar page, candy canes, Hope disk, reindeer, guardian angel, Santa and a present, and are surrounded by a mix of glass and crystal beads.

Patty and Jennie - I think the Christmas bug is catching! Love both of your projects!! Along a similar theme...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Charms
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Have a Statistically Significant Christmas aka Your Nerd is Showing...
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)

I'm a medical editor/writer by profession. It's not as cool as it sounds. Last year in my xmas card, a co-worker drew a really clever graph in my xmas card. Recently, our office disbanded and our once close group is temporarily scattered. To cheer up myself and my co-worker friends, I decided to make xmas ornaments for everyone based on my co-worker's graph! It makes me smile, at least!

@pinkleo - Wow, that is alot of hats.  Shocked And they're adorable!

@patty_o, @jennieingram and @Abbeeroad - I love all of your projects! So Christmassy...  Cheesy

I wish I could indulge in a little festive crafting myself, but I'm working on my November Detention and I won't let anything distract me! I finished the head today, with handsewing, a lot of felt, and the help of my good friend contact adhesive. Wink I'm considering changing the mouth, but otherwise I think he's coming along splendidly - though we'll see what happens when I start on the body!

Cheesy  Tell me more about this thing called sleep... Wink

Really those suckers are fast to make...1 hour per hat perhaps.  Many of these were crafted while watching election coverage (I just can't sit and watch tv....unless it's something super amazing!)

November Quidditch Update
Perhaps you could make something for Sandy relief....

Class: Flying
House: Ravenclaw
Project:

So... I'm rather excited to have finished this project, and since it's 1.30am so I can't wake anyone up to share my glee, I thought I'd come here to dance Smiley (also hence dodgy photo - very poor lighting!)

I have never knitted before, apart from a couple of straight knit stitch scarfs, so I am inordinately proud of these, even though they have many faulty bits;

They are the colour of what I think of as 'PE sky' - since the only time we Brits get decent blue sky is the summer, when we don't have to go to school, all our autumn/spring PE games (and hence all the Quidditch at Hogwarts) are played under a shade of vaguely grisly blue grey which I hope is reflected in the colour choice for these wee babies Smiley
